KODJO YENGA TRUST WORKSHOP

In March 2007, Kodjo Yenga, a refugee from Congo and a popular A-level student, was stabbed to death in Hammersmith.

he was chased down the street by a gang armed with knives, bats and a pit bull terrier who were shouting "kill him, kill him".

and was left dying in his girlfriend's arms after being stabbed.

As passers-by tried to help, the gang of around a dozen, some of them in their school uniforms, ran away laughing.

His mother Ladjua Lesele said her son's killers would always have "blood on their hands".

She added in a statement to the court: "I stand before you as a broken mother whose prayers, dreams and hopes for the bright future of her beloved son were cruelly and needlessly crushed when he was brutally murdered.

Kodjo Yenga Trust is a charity that was set up help eradicate violence on london streets.
